i think of you in colours that don't exist

 Baths - Lovely Bloodflow

HEY NOW

Hey now, this track by London Grammar is amazing. I’m in love with the vocals and the electronic bits in the background. Really resonates you all the way down to your core. London Grammar’s other tracks called “Metal and Dust” and “Wasting My Young Years” are just as good so give them a listen if you love “Hey Now”. Cheers followers.

“I don’t know what I’d do, if I lost you…”

Lovely track by Shiny Toy Guns.

PERFUME - FAKE IT

I don’t know how many of you are open to listening to music in different languages but personally I prefer not limit myself from discovering to all the amazing tracks that are being cranked out all around the world. That being said, Perfume is an amazing japanese electronic group. I was introduced to them by an university friend last year and I was instantly hooked. Currently, “Fake It” is my favourite track from them. For those a little skeptical on whether or not they will like this track or not, it does have elements to the track that remind me of Justice and Crystal Castles. Did I mention the music video is extremely well done? Makes me wish I was in the crowd as well dancing with them! Happy listening!

WINTER IS ALL OVER YOU

I thought I had already shared this remix with you all but upon searching my tags it appears that I haven’t yet! That aside, this remix by Baauer of First Aid Kit’s “Winter is All Over You” is sick. I love the atmospheric feel and the bass. Almost as if the track could surround you and completely engulf you. Give her a listen folks!

“Are you happy? I know you shiver like a stone.”

After that first line, the bass that comes in is simply eargasmic. Yet another amazing track I’ve found all thanks to Turntable Kitchen’s monthly mixtapes.

Black Moth Super Rainbow - We Burn

Today I have been introduced to this really awesome electronic band called Black Moth Super Rainbow. I first heard “Psychic Love Damage” (thanks to this awesome blog) and I was instantly hooked so I decided to check out the rest of the album that the track was on called Cobra Juicy and I ended up liking a good majority of the tracks. This album has been the perfect companion to the all the studying I am doing from my midterm tomorrow. “We Burn” was definitely one of the tracks that stood out to me immediately. Loving the sexy chorus. Anyways, time for more studying. Happy listening.

“Seasons change, it will never be the same. I’m hoping that I will always stay the same. Reasons strange, why we always play these games…”

Yesterday I went on the hunt to find some really chill tracks that sounded similar to Groove Armada’s “Inside My Mind (Blue Skies)”, because it is a fantastic track to sit back and immerse yourself completely in some homework. I went and posted on a Facebook group page for one of the clubs I participate at university for music fanatics and a friend of mine reminded me of using Last.fm and checking out similar artists. And that’s when I discovered just what I was looking for: Bonobo! Bonobo is an artist that has some fantastic downtempo, jazz, electronic tracks!  So far most of the tracks that I have taken a liking to are all from the album Black Sands. My favourite track currently is “Stay the Same” featuring the lovely vocals of Andreya Triana. For now I’m going to have look into his other albums and also, if any of you have some suggestions of tracks similar to this one, inbox me and I’ll check it out. Happy listening and studying for all my student followers!

Neon Bunny - Oh My Prince

For everyone that knows me, I am constantly looking for new music. And a language barrier certainly is no exception! I wasn’t really introduced to korean music in general until I met some of my friends in university. I had personally fallen in love with Brown Eyed Girl’s “Abracadabra” before that but aside from that I knew no korean music before I met them. Some of my friends listen to it a lot so it was hard for it not to grow on me. Two years later, I’m still building up my korean music repitoire, mostly consisting of k-pop, but thanks to a YouTube channel I subscribe to called EatYourKimichi, I decided to dive into some korean indie music! And when I did, I found this little gem by Neon Bunny titled “Oh My Prince”. I have no idea what she is saying but I still LOVE this song. I whip out this song at any time and it instantly pumps me up and I just want to dance around. The song ends and then I have to listen to it again! Absolutely obsessed. I know a lot of you probably don’t listen to korean music or any asian music for that matter, but if you like electronic music, I dare you to give this one a listen. I think it’ll grow on you!

“Obedear the sky is low…”

In these past few days I have finally got myself a good bunch of awesome tracks to listen to!  Of the tracks I recently downloaded, this remix of Purity Ring’s “Obedear” is one of my favourties. I love the original track of this song but this remix brings it up to the next level. I especially like how the track starts with the chorus instead of the original order. Good job on the remixer’s end and also a hat off to Purity Ring. I’ve been really into their music ever since I heard “Lofticries” for the first time and I think a lot of it is due to the fact that their music reminds me of Crystal Castles. For all you chill, electronic music lovers, this track is for you!

Noble Oak - Lover

“…i’ve given up on your time i’ve started thinking about what’s mine thinking back i just can make out how you planned that far. you can’t go back now you’re too excluded by your friends, things you can’t erase, bills you gotta pay; i’m hangin on, last time. just tell me that it’s alright come back to me someday i’ll be here we’ll be happy. our love has gone away but i won’t stray no, follow me back home…”

“Your love is safe with me.”

Here’s a chill track by Panama called “Blossom” that samples from Bon Iver’s “re: Stacks”, which is a lovely song on its own. Enjoy as always.

YOUR JOY IS MY LOW

One of the most devious, sexy songs I know. Right away it intoxicates you with the lyrics: “He takes your face, and positions it to take your mouth…” and then you are hooked. This song ain’t shy of being sexual, that’s for sure!

“So in love with the way we are,…here.”

Ever since I’ve heard “The Veldt” by Deadmau5, I can not get enough of it. I have had it contently stuck in my head for the past couple days now and I still haven’t grown tired of it. I also really appreciate how the track itself came together in the end. “The Veldt” is a track that is based on a short story of the same name and Deadmau5 asked his fans if they had any suggestions for the track and a guy named Chris James tweeted him and sent him some lyrics. Here is Deadmau5 contacting the guy on his live feed. The video I have posted is a remix of the track by Project 46 which I simply love. It just adds that extra special something to make the track even more awesome. (The original is still mint though.)

I also went to see Madeon last night, and he also played a remix of “The Veldt” and was so friggin’ ecstatic to hear it along with the other tracks I recognize from Madeon. Awesome show overall! Anyways, happy listening folks!
