So today on The Hype Machine, I came across this mash up of Ellie Goulding’s “Under the Sheets” and Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks” and the first thing I thought was that it wasn’t very good. However, within 30 seconds of that initial thought, I quickly changed my mind. I almost prefer it over the original “Under the Sheets”. (That however could be because I’ve listened to it way too much last year etc) Alas here is a download available here.

Checked out the old Hype Machine today and I was not disappointed! Found this magnificent chillstep song by Blackmill featuring the beautiful vocals from Veela called “Let it Be”. I instantly fell in love with this track. Perfect fusion of chill and just enough dubstep. Definitely going to be putting this track on repeat. I haven’t done an audio post in awhile so I figured after I heard Sleep ∞ Over’s track, “Romantic Streams” it was a good time to do so. As usual I found this on The Hype Machine (it never fails me!), and it just makes me want to lounge out and float away. Lovin’ the vibes from this track! Definitely loving music that’s coming out under this chillwave genre.
I wish I could find more music like this. The Black Keys are a music duo that make me want to learn more electric guitar songs and put the acoustic aside for a change. I really should get around to listening to their full albums. Anyways here is a very soulful and tender track titled, “Never Gonna Give You Up” that is basically about loving someone so desperately no matter how poorly they treat you. Happy listening!
So thanks to The Hype Machine, I found an extremely rad artist that I’m really into. I discovered Washed Out a few days ago and I instantly fell in love with the track “Eyes Be Closed”. After hearing that track, I was extremely intrigued to check out some more tracks and the majority of them are absolutely brilliant! What chill music! Makes me wish I was lounging in some warm climate on some breathtaking beach. Here is the track “You’ll See It”. Definitely check out the rest of Washed Out’s tracks if you dig what you hear!
I heard this track first on The Hype Machine and the chorus is unbelievably catchy. I have been singing it all day around the house. I’m definitely going to check out some more tracks from Foster the People. Give this track a listen and hopefully you’ll be grooving out like me.

I can not believe I haven’t posted this yet. It’s hard to explain this but, this song is my favourite song, and favourite doesn’t even seem like the correct word to even use. The first time I ever heard it, I was in love with it. It’s beautiful, but in an atypical way. Dallas’s voice is absolutely perfect for it and thus far I haven’t grown tired of this song and I don’t think I ever will. That’s all I have to say and I wish there was more I could say, but I think you just need to listen for yourself.
So here’s a very different track from the French music duo, AIR and I’m kinda undecided how I feel about it. Its definitely “out there” if anything. Regardless it’s striking me as weirdly beautiful. Especially in the beginning:

After that, the song changes and the next verse includes some Japanese. It’s very different. Give it a listen.

I found this song randomly while searching for another song. And the funny thing is if I didn’t accidentally download it, I would of never heard it. This is a track from a EP album from a Swedish artist named Stefan Ternemar. This indie electronic song definitely deserves some more attention.

I went and performed at a talent show last night, and one of the acts featured this song. I instantly fell in love with this amazing cover of Dead or Alive’s “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)”. What a great twist on the original.
Sextape by the Deftones is a current favourite of mine. Chill, beautiful,…many words to describe this one.
